Summary of Specifications:
Thornton is seeking Proposals from Service Provider’s to provide Construction Services for asphalt restoration under a multi-year Agreement. The Work will be performed at various city of Thornton (Thornton) street locations which can either be arterial streets, non-arterial streets, or Thornton parking lot locations. Street cuts will be flash filled/flow filled by permit holder flush to the surface. For larger repairs, the subgrade material may be re-compacted in lieu of flash fill or flow fill but must pass any compaction testing. The asphalt restoration Work includes removal of flash fill/flow fill from six inches to twelve inches (6”-12”) or one inch (1”) greater than the existing. Street cut will then be patched with an asphalt mix of PG64-22 Grade (SX), twenty percent (20%) recycled asphalt pavement (RAP).
The Service Provider shall be required to repair all arterial streets within forty-eight (48) hours of notification, and eight (8) Calendar Days for non-arterial streets. Thornton’s arterial streets are full length streets which include Washington Street, Colorado Boulevard, Holly Street, 84th Avenue, 88th Avenue, 92nd Avenue, Thornton Parkway, 104th Avenue, 112th Avenue, 120th Avenue, 128th Avenue, 136th Avenue, 144th Avenue, including, portions of Adams County that receive water from Thornton. The Service Provider’s Work price shall also include the cost for traffic control per MUTCD standards. All Work in arterial streets will be done avoiding rush hour (6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.). The estimated Work annually could be one thousand three hundred (1,300) tons or three thousand eight hundred (3,800) square yards.
The Service Provider shall also be required to restore core holes in Thornton streets by removing core hole plugs and vacuuming out the top six inches (6”) of squeegee, then back fill core hole with cold patch asphalt mix
