Request for Qualifications The Hammer Reservoirs (AKA Brighton Reservoir) are existing lined gravel pits that Thornton is converting into water storage and exchange reservoirs. The Brighton/ Hammer Reservoirs Site (Site) is located in Sections 14 and 23, Township 1 South, Range 67 West of the 6th Principal Meridian in Adams County, Colorado. This Site is located north of Highway E-470 (E-470), east of Riverdale Road, and west of the South Platte River (River). The Reservoirs are comprised of two (2) reservoir cells; the Central Reservoir and the South Reservoir. The Reservoirs are located within the 100-year floodplain/floodway of the river. The major Project elements consist of, but are not limited to, the following items: • A pump station with variable frequency turbine pumps and capacity ranging from 15 CFS (2.6 MGD) to 100 CFS (64 MGD) to be located on the northeast slope of the South Reservoir. The pump station structure consists of a reinforced concrete wet well and masonry electrical control and pump station buildings. • Inlet/outlet structure on west bank of the River. • Inlet/outlet river pipeline from the wet well to the South Platte River. • Inlet/outlet on the southeast bank of the Central Reservoir. • Inlet/outlet reservoir pipeline from the wet well to the Central Reservoir inlet/outlet structure. • Site-wide fence improvements. • Site-wide road improvements. • Installation of SCADA communications and water control equipment automated controls. • Coordination with Power Utility Company. • Coordination with Metro Sewer during installation of Metro new sewer lines adjacent to, and concurrent with, Pump Station Construction. • Coordination with City Contractor during rip-rap installations and spillway reconstruction to be performed by others. • Coordination with UDFCD for access to river and future improvements to river bank and rip-rap protection. • Coordination and access sharing with existing gas and oil facilities adjacent to the proposed pump Station. The preliminary construction cost estimate is approximately six to seven million dollars ($6,000,000 to $7,000,000).
