The City of Fort Collins is requesting bids from qualified CommScope cabling service providers or equal to become the primary and secondary resource for purchasing enterprise network cabling contract services or equal. Parts bid upon must be CommScope or equivalent. If the Bidder is offering CommScope equipment, the Bidder must be a CommScope/ SYSTIMAX Products certified/trained cabling provider and must have proof of corresponding certification/training (CommScope SYSTIMAX Design and Engineering Course (SP3321 - SYSTIMAX SCS Design and Engineering) and CommScope SYSTIMAX Installation and Maintenance Course (ND3361 - SYSTIMAX Installation and Maintenance). If the Bidder is offering an equivalent solution to CommScope equipment, the bidder must be an authorized reseller and have the applicable manufacturer’s certification equivalent to CommScope certification/training. Cabling components will be new equipment and not refurbished. In the event a bidder wishes to propose an equivalent, the City will evaluate the proposed alternative based on the product specifications, quality, standardization, interchangeability, compatibility with existing system components, maintenance, spares, training, and total cost of ownership. The City’s evaluation and determination of equivalence shall be final.
