Summary of Specifications:
The City of Durango collects yard waste consisting primarily of brush and limbs from its residents. The City is seeking the services of a contractor with a grinder to shred the collected woody waste into a product that could be used as garden mulch.

The existing slash pile is located on a closed landfill on the west side of Durango (Van Dal Site). It is estimated that the pile contains approximately 10,000 cubic yards of brush. Also, an extra 1,500 - 2,000 cubic yards will be added as a result of the City’s Spring Cleanup which is currently underway. The City has a maximum of $15,400 to spend on brush grinding in 2006.
