Summary of Specifications:
City of Durango is seeking proposals for sign language, translation, and language interpretation services for citizens participating in programs, attending municipal court proceedings, attending city council meetings, and requesting general City of Durango services that require translation. The translation services requested would be available for all departments of the City of Durango, including the Durango Public Library and the Durango-La Plata County Airport. The services requested include on-demand remote video interpreting, telephone interpreting, text translation, and in-person professional translation and interpretation.
The list that will be established will not obligate the City to rotate or otherwise utilize the services of any individual or company. The City reserves the right to use any individual or company on the on-call list that it deems to be in its best interest of the City and most appropriate for a job. Selection on each project shall be within the sole discretion of the City. Factors that may be considered by the City in choosing a company in any given situation include the following: (a) quoted price for services; (b) Professional's availability; and (c) expertise specific to the project or request.
The City anticipates that the individual jobs shall be relatively small and might simply entail an hour or two of interpretation or translation. Hourly rates are for time on the job. The City will not pay for travel time. All work locations are in or around the City of Durango, Colorado.
