The City of Cortez seeks a qualified contractor to provide engineering services, design, materials, equipment, labor, and supervision for the installation of galvanic sacrificial anode systems to provide corrosion control for the interior of three 2MG drinking water storage tanks. All three storage tanks are located at 27999 County Road N., Dolores, CO 81323. (Tanks 1&2 DIA 210’ HT 25’; Tank 3 DIA 84’ HT 48’). All work furnished shall be in accordance with N.A.C.E. Standard SPO196, ANSI/NSF 61. All engineering services shall be provided by a Corrosion Specialist who is accredited by the National Association of Engineers International (NAEI).
The cathodic protection contractor shall submit the following information to the designated City of Cortez representative:
- Drawings showing the system design/configuration;
- Description of system components; and
- Design calculations for required voltage, amperage, & life expectancy.
Systems shall include a test station on the exterior of each tank at ground level. After the systems are installed and tanks are filled, the contractor shall provide start-up service to include testing and adjusting the system for optimum performance of the cathodic protection system. The City representative will be responsible for disinfecting storage tanks after the anode installation is complete. Tanks must be completed one-at-a- time during this project. The City must always keep two storage tanks operational during this project.
