Summary of Specifications:
The work consists of the construction of approximately 2,000 feet of 30-inch diameter AWWA C151, Pressure Class 200 ductile iron pipe, or AWWA C200 Steel pipe, fittings, isolation valves, an air and vacuum relief valve assembly, a blow-off assembly, and tie-ins to existing steel, ductile iron, and PVC distribution lines. Work includes a creek crossing, all site preparation and erosion control, traffic control, asphalt road restoration, gravel drive/road shoulder restoration, re-vegetation, and restoration of all existing facilities and surface improvements to pre-construction conditions. Also included is the survey and staking as required for construction, and all miscellaneous work as shown and specified for a complete installation. It is anticipated that a portion of the pipeline will be constructed in wet or high groundwater areas. Construction in wet areas will require dewatering. Some areas may require trench stabilization per these specifications. Actual conditions of surface improvements around this work may differ from what is shown on these drawings. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to verify actual field conditions. It is strongly recommended that the Contractor investigate the site of the work sufficiently to satisfy themselves of the extent and conditions of the project.
