Summary of Specifications:
The City of Aurora is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide courier services to transport primarily, but not limited to, mail, books, audio visual items and other library circulating materials Monday through Friday between seven branch Aurora Library locations, the City Municipal Building, the Friends of Aurora Public Library, local Post Offices, the Community College of Aurora and occasionally other locations primarily within or within three (3) miles of the City of Aurora. These items are primarily transported in bins approximately 23 ½” (L) x 19 ½” (W) x 10” (H) weighing up to 50 lbs when full. The volume of material to be picked up and delivered will vary from one location to another and from day to day. The contractor must be able to provide a vehicle with enough enclosed cargo space to handle an average-day’s load within the schedule shown below. At any one time, up to 100 bins may be in the vehicle and approximately 85 bins are moved per day. Additionally, the courier will be asked to collect customer comment forms from a lock box in each outlying branch library (not Central) on Mondays and Thursdays.
