24-PD-060 - Laundry Services - Police Uniform and Other

The Cityof Arvada has traditionally maintained an outsourced cleaning services for Arvada Police Department uniform and civilian clothing items. This includes uniforms for police officers, animal management officers, code enforcement officers, and police service technicians.
The City has recently been utilizing these services under a flat rate plan. The City requires environmentally friendly services with pickup and delivery services.
There are approximately 205 uniformed personnel and 40 personnel who work primarily in civilian clothing.
Most uniforms are polyester or wool, polyester uniforms need to be wet cleaned, while 100% wool uniforms require dry cleaning. Other types of fabrics and laundry types include GorTex outer and inner layers (wet clean only) and fleece-lined coats (wet clean or dry clean). Types of articles include pants, shirts, ties, vests, hats, coats, and sweaters, as well as fleece blankets.
