Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS) is seeking quotes from qualified contractors who have the capacity to perform jetting, vacuuming, camera scoping, repair and maintenance services for irrigation drain tile, irrigation pipeline and irrigation vaults on leased agricultural properties owned by the County. Boulder County has several agricultural properties that have tile drainage systems which drain sub-surface water off the property and into ditches or ponds. Over the years, these drain tiles have been damaged or are plugged by sediment and roots. Periodically the drain tile needs to be cleaned out by means of jetting, vacuuming, or use of a camera to determine what and where damage or clogs may be. Occasionally, these irrigation drain tiles and irrigation pipelines are broken or breached by wear and tear or tree roots. This damage requires excavation of the broken or breached area and possible repairs to the damaged sections. This can require pumping water from the exaction pit in order to get to the damaged areas. Additionally, the concrete vaults, which supply water to pumps for select center pivot sprinklers, fill with silt from the supply ditches. These vaults also need to be cleaned out to increase the water capacity and prevent damage to the pumps.
