Social Emotional Training and Support Services
 

• Participate with school leadership and SEL school staff in the implementation of a continuum of effective and appropriate SEL services between March 21 and May 26, 2022 AND during summer programming, between June 6 and June 30, 2022.
  • Spring hours: 8 hours per week (2 days per week, 4 hours per day during school hours)
  • Summer programming hours: 16 hours per week (4 hours/day, 4 days/week)
• During the school year service to be provided:
  • Serve as support staff for recess and lunch periods (organized, structured play on the playground and/or organized activities in a quiet room, depending on student needs). Current school staffing includes 1-4 Paris Elementary School staff.
  • 30 minute SEL lessons (push-in support) for K-5th grades
    • Reframing, de-escalation, and redirection
  • Scheduled 20-minute small group SEL skill-building for targeted students in alignment with school’s strategies, curriculum, and policies.
  • 3rd-5th grade “mentoring up” (supporting students with SEL) during their special period, 60 minutes. Number of students ranges from 1-10 students.
  • Empower families to build capacity to affirm and support SEL in family/home units via 2 workshops, informal conversations, targeted communication, and direction to resources. Scheduled either after-school or during school hours.
  • Provide support to teachers and other school staff (skill-building, other). Facilitate and lead 20 minute segments of professional development for teachers and staff.

• During summer programming services to be provided:
  • Provide support and positive presence at arrival and meal times.
  • 30 minute SEL lessons (push-in support) for K-5th grades (reframing, de-escalation, and redirection).
  • Scheduled 20-minute small group SEL skill-building for targeted students in alignment with school’s strategies, curriculum, and policies.
  • Serve as a presence and resource for any real-time SEL needs
  • Empower families to build capacity to affirm and support SEL in family/home units’ informal conversations, targeted communication, direction to resources. Scheduled either after-school or during summer academy hours.
