2760-17 - Refugee and Immigrant Summer Program

The Aurora Public Schools is looking for a partner to provide a summer program geared primarily for K-8 immigrant and refugee students where students get to take English Language Development (ELD) classes according to their language level, participate in educational and enrichment activities, such as visit the public library, cooking, gardening, sports and field trips around Denver metro area. The goal of the summer program would be two-fold.  The first goal would be to allow students to develop their English and make them more prepared academically for the 2017-2018 school year.  The second goal is to facilitate cross-cultural friendships, build confidence in students, and to introduce newcomer students to a variety of social activities in the area in order to support their adjustment to the life in Aurora and Colorado.
