The overall objective of this project is to improve roadway safety, capacity, mobility, pedestrian access
facilities and drainage system on Pecos Street between 52nd Avenue and 58th Avenue (Cargill Drive).
Pecos Street is classified as a minor arterial (urban) road and one of major transit corridors to connect
cities, counties, and interstate highways I-70, I-76, and I-25 in the southwest of unincorporated Adams
County area. A project site location map is included in Appendix A.
This project will initially focus on identifying distinct alternatives (up to 6) for alignments, intersection
configurations, roadway transitions, and typical sections, sidewalks, landscapes, utility relocations,
bicyclist mobility with minimum impact on adjacent properties and right-of-way acquisitions. Once
feasible alternatives are developed and accepted through a collaborative process, the conceptual design will be made to incorporate road improvements from existing developments into the final design of this project.
