The project involves the improvement of Dahlia Street from E. 69th Avenue at the north end to E. 74th
The overall objective of this project is to improve roadway safety, capacity, mobility, pedestrian access facilities and drainage system on Dahlia Street between E. 69th Avenue and E. 74th Avenue/(State Highway (SH) 224).
Dahlia Street is classified as a major collector (urban) road and is one of the major transit corridors in unincorporated Adams County and Commerce City. The project is located east of I-25 and I-76 and can be accessed through 74th Avenue/SH 224 from East and West.
The project is approximately 0.6 miles in length. A project site location map is included in Appendix A.
Avenue at the south end. The project will only extend east and west as far as needed to efficiently tie in at Dexter St/E 73rd Place, E 72nd Way, E 72nd Avenue, E 71st Avenue, E 70th Avenue and the north side of E 69th Avenue. The E 74th Avenue (SH 224) intersection is part of a project currently underway and will need to be incorporated to the project limits for continuity purposes.
