Summary of Specifications:
Academy School District 20 (ASD20) provides wired and wireless network access for faculty, staff, students, and guests at all of its locations. With an increasing population of mobile users, enabled by the expanded network wiring and pervasive wireless at the schools, ASD20 is looking to provide a more secure network environment. ASD20 seeks to implement a Network Access Control (NAC) solution that will:
• Authenticate users onto the combined staff/student network. • Provide “On Board” authentication to wireless devices in a BYOD environment. • Present recommendations or administer downloading of patch updates for operating system, virus checking, firewall and other laptop/mobile device protection utilities. • Assess and classify user credentials into the correct security profile on the network. • Track and log user activities as they access the network. • Reduce the number of logins that occur for the user as they traverse the network. • Allow logging of the user information into a database with real-time and historical review and operational monitoring.
With limited staffing available, and a network comprised of up to 100,000 connections, ASD20 seeks to partner with a solution provider or manufacturer who can provide the necessary hardware, software, implementation, and training services to deploy the NAC solution by Spring of 2016.
