25-05 - Substation Transformer Oil Processing

All of the work to be performed is within the City of Ukiah and consists of draining and storing the transformer oil and inspecting the interior of Transformer TR-2 to identify the source of the condition that has resulted in elevated combustible gas levels. The Contractor shall perform a detailed internal inspection and provide a written root-cause assessment and recommendation for appropriate remediation. Transformer oil shall be processed to filter, de-gas, and dry the oil prior to vacuum filling, in accordance with applicable industry standards. After the tank has been reassembled and the oil processing and vacuum filling procedures are complete, the transformer shall undergo field testing to verify its condition and document post-processing performance.
