Benefits of an extensive vendor pool

How do you get more bid responses? When issuing a solicitation, most local government buyers are hoping to reach as many qualified vendors as possible. However, posting bid opportunities on your website or local newspaper can only reach so far. Joining BidNet Direct allows your solicitations to reach an increased number of local and national vendors from day one. With every NIGP and NAICS code covered, BidNet Direct is already home to thousands of registered vendors in our extensive vendor pool who are ready to respond to matching business opportunities from your agency.

About BidNet’s existing vendor pool

BidNet Direct’s extensive vendor pool includes vendors from all across the country, with tens of thousands of currently registered vendors. These vendors are spread across the country, and are registered to one or more of our regional purchasing groups that cover each of the 50 states! When issuing a solicitation, you can target vendors local to your region, or span out for even more coverage. BidNet Direct automatically matches vendors to be notified of your solicitation based on the selected category codes, and also gives you the option to add on any additional vendors from our national vendor pool or your own database.

Matching with qualified vendors

When registering on BidNet Direct, each vendor is prompted to input category codes for the goods or services they provide. When your agency distributes a bid, you choose the NIGP codes that fit your solicitations needs. The appropriate vendors will then receive a notification for that bid automatically via email. Your agency can also view each of the vendors registered under a specific category code and invite them to submit a bid.

New vendors registering daily

One of the key aspects of BidNet Direct’s vendor pool is that it’s continuously expanding, with new vendors being added every day! All new vendors will have access to solicitations from your agency and all others within the purchasing group, regardless of the solicitations publish date.

As part of the onboarding process when you join BidNet Direct, we will send a press release to your existing vendors to inform them of your new purchasing process and invite them to register on BidNet Direct. In addition to the press release, an email or direct mail piece can also be sent to your current vendors to announce the location of your online solicitations. BidNet Direct’s platform also provides a courtesy email feature allowing you to input a vendor’s email and send them a notice of your solicitation, along with an invitation to join the platform. These features will allow your vendors to self-register and stay up to date on bid opportunities from your agency as well as those from other agencies throughout the region!

Save your agency money and time!

One of the more obvious advantages to your solicitations going out to our extensive vendor pool is the possibility of increased bid competition. Distributing your solicitations to an increased number of vendors increases the prospect of receiving more bid submissions, likely leading to an increase in the quality of goods or services provided at a lower cost to your agency!

While increased competition will save your agency money when awarding the bid, having access to a vendor pool as extensive as BidNet Direct’s will already indirectly save your agency money by saving your purchasing professionals valuable time. Your agency will no longer have to spend time looking for vendors to distribute your solicitations to, as our platform notifies matching vendors automatically! That’s especially important when needing to find select subsets of vendors, such as DBE or other certifications.

Having access to BidNet Direct allows your department to streamline your purchasing process and increase bid distribute with the touch of a button. While our extensive vendor pool benefits your agency with saved time and increased bid competition, joining the vendor pool also benefits your existing vendors by providing them access to a larger number of public bid opportunities in the area!
