Project Overview: This project is a multi-phase initiative by the City to establish an east/west bike path along Spring Creek. Phase 2, specifically with plans to extend the trail westward, linking the existing Phase 1 path that terminates at 23rd St, extending to 9th St. Additionally, a short connecting loop trail is to be constructed at LaPrele Park, along the northern bank of Huck Finn Pond, connecting two existing pathways (see map in attached documents) The anticipated scope involves the final design and construction of the trail and any amenities along the trail (watering stations, bike maintenance stands, benches, etc.). The benefits and goals of this project include enhanced recreational opportunities, improved pedestrian safety, carbon reduction, safe means of travel for those without vehicles, and promoting healthy lifestyles. Additionally, the project ensures safe connectivity to three local schools and supports Laramie's economic development plan emphasizing outdoor recreation and quality of life. This Design-Build project requires the successful Design-Builder to finalize the design and construct the necessary components, which generally include elements such as concrete sidewalks, base course installation, rest/bike maintenance areas, ADA ramps, and signage.
