SERVICE DEFINITIONS AND ALLOWABLE TASKS: Service providers contracted to provide In-Home Supports Services are required to perform any combination of the services listed below as needed and coordinated by the service provider and the client and/or their caregiver. In delivering In Home Supports services, providers are required to observe, report and record any change in client’s condition and home environment as part of the overall service delivery. Homemaking: Homemaking clients require support with routine household tasks to maintain a safe, sanitary living environment due to functional or cognitive limitations. Criteria: To be eligible for this service, there must be no other able-bodied person in the home (i.e. adult children, grandchildren, etc.) to provide support with these tasks. Additionally, the care plan must contain a minimum of three of the following items AND client must score 4 or higher in section 3.1 below. Allowable tasks: • Laundry • Meal preparation • Essential shopping and errands as part of the care plan (i.e. groceries, banking, bill paying, prescription pick up, etc.)* • Light housekeeping task (dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, bathroom and kitchen cleaning and sanitizing, washing dishes, making beds, etc.) • Monitoring safety in the home due to cognitive impairment (trash removal, food safety, trip hazards, etc.)
