Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Co-op request proposals in response to the Request for Proposal (RFP) for purchasing commercial food and non-food products, Net Off Invoice (NOI) products, Fee for Service through the DISTRIBUTOR and related services. The mission of school food service is to provide a variety of healthy school meals and other food services at affordable prices in support of the educational goals of students. Co-op members, identified above, participate in the USDA Child Nutrition Programs to include, but not limited to, the National School Lunch, Breakfast Programs, Summer Feeding Service Program, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program and After School Snack Program. The Co-op is also allocated USDA Foods for use in school meals though the Food Distribution Program. The Co-op is required to adhere to “Buy American” for their food service programs.
