The scope of work involves replacing the existing HVAC system at Cottonwood Elementary School in Wright, WY. The existing facility is a single-story building approximately 56,000 sq.ft. in floor area. The HVAC replacement will include the removal of the existing pneumatic temperature control system and installation of a new direct digital control system with web-based access to manage the facility's mechanical systems. The boiler plant was replaced in 2024 and will not need to be renovated; this includes the plant’s associated distribution pumps and air separator. All existing heating hot water and chilled water piping, air-cooled chiller, chilled water distribution pumps, and air separators will be replaced. New roof-mounted variable air volume air handling units mounted on structural platforms will replace existing unit ventilators and interior air handling units, while new variable air volume terminal boxes will provide space zone control. Existing ductwork, grilles, registers, diffusers, exhaust fans, and cabinet unit heaters will also be replaced. The existing server room will receive a new split-system cooling unit, and the kitchen will add a new Type II hood over the existing dishwasher. Work will include the mechanical generally described above, and the electrical, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, structural, roofing, and general construction to support the mechanical system replacement project.
