Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Wisconsin seeks qualified vendor(s) to provide a long term, cost effective comprehensive water treatment program for heating and cooling systems for UW Madison. This water treatment service includes chemicals, laboratory/test equipment, other items and technical services from a water treatment contractor to treat, protect and to produce clean heat transfer surfaces for: 1. Steam boiler systems and steam distribution systems. 2. Condensate returns system. 3. Cooling systems and chilled water distribution system. Routine Service: Scheduled service by a qualified representative must be conducted a minimum of 52 times per year for Boiler/Tower. Weekly service visits are mandatory. The time spent for service calls shall be a minimum of 8 hours per week. The purpose of these service visits will be to prevent potential problems from arising that will reduce equipment efficiency and/or result in equipment damage. All scheduled visits must be scheduled by contractor in advance. Emergency Service. Response time for the service person for emergency problems shall not exceed four (4) hours after notification on the same day. For in-plant testing and analysis relative to boiler/cooling water treatment, the primary service representative will spend a minimum of eight hour per visit at the plants and will provide the following at each site visit: a.) In plant sample collection of boiler feed water, boiler water, condensate, softener, and / or chilled water loop system and cooling water systems for field analysis. Perform all tests necessary to evaluate performance of treatments used in the program that assures the protection of the systems. b.) Perform RO machine performance evaluation. c.) Checking quality of plant's field-testing reagents d.) Review of plant's field test results/records. Calibrate tower inhibitor controllers and boiler controllers. e.) Provide, dissolved oxygen testing – onsite (quarterly) as requested by the Plant Superintendent.
