The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (District) seeks manufacturers with proven track records of supplying sludge cake belt conveyors to submit information on their conveyance systems. The information will be evaluated for specifying sludge cake belt conveyors to replace existing conveyor systems at the District’s Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility (JIWRF) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The existing sludge cake belt conveyors are approaching the end of their service life and will be replaced to improve reliability. The conveyors are used in the production of Milorganite®, which is a biosolids product made from the processing of wastewater at the District’s water reclamation facilities. Located in the Dewatering and Drying (D&D) Building, the sludge cake conveyance system, including sludge cake transport and sludge cake feed belt conveyors, transports the material from belt filter presses (BFPs) to rotary drum dryers.
