Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Radiopharmaceutical Production Facility (RPF) requires a synthesis module that will be used to manufacture and/or compound Positron Emission Tomography (PET) radiopharmaceuticals that will be utilized for clinical use at UW Hospital and UW Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR). The Department currently uses Synthra RN Plus modules. That specific model is known to meet our requirements. In addition, using the same model will allow the Department to utilize their current manufacturing procedures and chemistry that has been submitted to the FDA. If the Department was to use a different module, they would need to redevelop the chemistry and resubmit that new material to the FDA. Those added costs will be factored into any bid for a model other than the Synthra RN Plus. (see 3.6.1 – Life Cycle Cost)
