Specifications include, but are not limited to: The replacement (including removal) of 7 steel bunks with 5” thick poured concrete bunk slabs within individual inmate holding cells within the Justice Center. The 7 bunk locations are shown in red on the layout document. Remove Existing Metal bunks and patch any holes or anchor points as needed. Prep area and pour seven fiber mesh concrete pads in place of previously removed metal bunks. New pads shall be a minimum of 5” thick by 27” and 77” long. Pads shall be pinned to the floor using a minimum of 6 pins to keep the pads from moving. The pads shall be tight to any adjacent walls. Concrete slabs shall be level on the top side and shall have a smooth finish with bullnose corners where not against adjacent walls. Work shall be scheduled and performed in a manner that minimizes downtime of the cells. All seven cells can be done at the same time, however once started, work must be completed within a two day time period. Concrete can be brought into and up to the jail by wheelbarrows or carts via the Jail loading dock and nearby Jail elevator. Contractor shall be responsible for site removal of existing metal bunks and cleanup of work area and any messes related to this project.
