Specifications include, but are not limited to: Services can be as simple as assisting the victim to de-escalate (calming breaths) to return to a state of normalcy following the crime event; facilitating safe transportation; arranging emergency lodging until an imminent threat (or perceived threat) has passed, securing food and clothing when necessitated by the event. Responders have contacted educators or employers to inform the victim is unavailable until the immediate threat has passed. If the trauma symptoms are severe or incapacitating, clinically trained trauma responders are available to provide a range of interventions aimed at addressing the physical and psychological symptoms and employing tested modalities to effectively reprocess trauma.
