Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1 Vendor must provide a large capacity Cage and Rack Washer for mobile nonhuman primate (NHP) enclosures and associated support equipment (e.g., cage extensions, PVC perches, cage dividers, enrichment devices). 2 Inner compartment measuring approximately 46" wide X 189" long X 92" high (exact measurements to be determined after site visit). 3 Overall unit measurements to be determined after site visit. 4 Unit will be pit mounted and designed to fit existing pit dimensions including pit pads and drains. Unit will be designed to best fit existing utilities. 5 Unit will be equipped with a two hinge swinging door on each end of washer to facilitate pass-through operation. Each door will be equipped with a window to allow visual access throughout sanitization procedure. Each door will also be equipped with a latch that will open readily when pushed from the inside. Minimum door height to be 92”, minimum door width to be 46”. 6 Inner compartment must be equipped with safety-stop cables on each side of cage washer. 7 Inner compartment will be equipped with heavy duty stainless steel flooring capable of supporting heavy NHP caging and other NHP support equipment. If possible, flooring will be equipped with rails to guide mobile cages to prevent damage of inner compartment. Provision and installation of cage guide rails on “dirty” side of cage washer if possible. 8 Inner compartment will be equipped with multiple oscillating jets to ensure thorough cleansing and sanitation of each piece of equipment placed in the washer. 9 Washer will be capable of programming a multiple cycle treatment schedule (i.e., pre-wash, alkaline wash, acid wash, first rinse, final rinse, exhaust, etc.). Cycle lengths, cycle components and cycle temperatures should all be modifiable to allow differing cycles based on the type of equipment being sanitized. Per the US animal Welfare Act, final rinse temperatures of the washer shall be no less than 180°F unless modified by the primate center. 10 Washer will be equipped with slow closing valves that will eliminate the chance of water hammering.
