Wisconsin Public Radio is looking for three to four modular studio pods to drop inside the large, open industrial style space at our new Milwaukee Bureau in lieu of traditional studio construction. We are looking for a manufacturer to design, engineer, construct, deliver, and install the units as a turn-key project. WPR will provide custom designed furniture and all radio equipment inside the pods. . 1. Company must offer an architect, designer, acoustician, and structural engineering. This is meant to be a turnkey project. Bidder will design, build, and install. 2. The pods must be ADA compliant according to both UW and State of WI standards. 3. Customization options for pod color, window shape and placement, and acoustic paneling. 4. Studio pods must meet applicable fire and building codes 5. The studio pods must be acoustically isolated from the outer room and offer a minimum of 70db of noise reduction of the outside area. An acoustician's report attesting to the isolation properties and frequency response of the rooms will be expected. A conversation held at normal volume right outside the door should not be heard inside the pods. Audio work being conducted at a normal volume inside the pods should not bleed over into the outer room. Any building vibrations or building HVAC noise should be isolated. Internal HVAC noise should not be audible or able to be perceived by an open microphone. 6. The studio pods need to have acoustically designed windows to provide natural light.
