Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.Outreach/Education: Funds may be used for outreach and education to PWID.2.Pretreatment Services: Funds may be used for brief interventions including the provision of literature and other materials to support behavior change/risk reduction, facilitating access to injection drug use health, HIV/AIDS and HCV testing, and counseling services.3.Staff Development Training: Funds may be used for staff development training of evidence-based strategies including design, delivery of quality assurance and evaluation of the IDUP program being proposed, co-occurring disorders, corrections, public health, care coordination, culturally competent assessment and treatment, cultural sensitivity, motivationa l interviewing, and neuroscience of addiction.4.Naloxone Training and Distribution: Funds may be used to implement and deliver opioid overdose prevention education and training. This must include training and education onhow to recognize an opioid overdose, how to respond to an opioid overdose, howto administer naloxone, and distribution of naloxone to the people trained.
