In general the work consists of: Full replacement of the inner and outer entrance doors on the west and east sides of the Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Center (KIRC), the main student/staff entrances for this building. The work includes downsizing the existing doors from 9’-6” to 7’-6” high and from 3’-4” to 3’-1” wide and in-filling the curtain wall area above the reduced size doors with new transom lites. Along with the door and sub-frame replacements, the door hardware (geared hinges, closers, power transfers, pulls, overhead stops, perimeter seals, sweeps, and thresholds) will be replaced. Some of the existing door hardware (exit devices, cylinders, and electric hardware items) will be reused. Miscellaneous work includes replacement of existing ADA door closers on four doors.
