The City of Wauwatosa is exploring option for redevelopment of the land currently occupied by the Yard Waste portion of the Drop Off Center, shooting range, exempt waste storage, and compost operations for other uses including multi-family residential, and/or light industrial. Redevelopment would require re-locating the Yard Waste Portion of the Drop Off Center operation to the capped municipal landfill south of the Public Works building and Walnut Street. The are defined for potential redevelopment covers an area of approximately 41 acres. Relocating operations will require permitting and planning for those operations, which will need to take-into-account, the protection and management of the existing land fill cap.
