Specifications include, but are not limited to: i. The contractor shall have a superintendent or a responsible foreman on the project at all times when work is in progress. ii. All power for lighting, operation of the contractor's plant or equipment, or for any other use by the contractor, shall be provided by the contractor’s sole cost and expense. iii. Once the demolition is initiated, it shall be continued until completed. iv. In the event previously unknown hazardous materials are discovered by the Contractor, the Contractor shall immediately suspend work in the specific location of the hazardous material and immediately notify the County. v. Excavations from demolished buildings or structures shall not be filled with any materials subject to deterioration. Voids in excavations shall not be permitted. vi. Contractor shall not allow mud and debris from vehicles transporting demolition materials to litter any streets or highways. Contractor shall clean-up any such mud or debris at its sole expense. The County will vigorously enforce all requirements relating to clean-up of debris, dirt, mud, and demolition materials from the site and on streets, highways, and adjacent properties. vii. Storage of salvage materials for sale on the work site is prohibited. Signs advertising salvage materials shall not be placed at the work site. viii. Contractor’s operations shall be confined to the parcels of land included in the demolition. ix. Abatement and disposal of any asbestos and/or lead on the premises must be performed by a Contractor licensed to perform such work in the State of Wisconsin and performed consistent with all applicable laws/regulations. x. Contractor must coordinate any traffic control measures with the Kenosha Police Dept. xi. Removal of trees must include stump removal. xii. Demolition process must segregate materials to ensure disposal and/or recycling compliance with all Federal, State and Local requirements. xiii. Contractor shall be responsible for all damage to private or public property as a result of his prosecution of the work and shall be responsible for the proper care and protection of all work performed until completion and final acceptance. xiv. Unless specifically exempted, demolition and site clearance will consist of the demolition and removal of all buildings, walks, concrete slabs, tunnels, interior contents, retaining walls, foundation walls, columns, floors, piers, partitions, walls, stoops and any other subsurface structures.
