Specifications include, but are not limited to: assist in: • Analyzing the DISTRICT’s benefit plans and providing recommendations to assist the DISTRICT in determining if it is in the best interest of the DISTRICT to remain self-insured or to become fully insured for its benefit plans, and vice-versa. • Preparing requests for proposals for benefit plans, marketing the proposals, analyzing the proposals, negotiating with providers and providing recommendations to the DISTRICT. • Implementing any provider change and providing ongoing assistance with benefit plans including contract review, summary plan description review and ongoing issues and/or areas of concern that may arise with the provider(s). • Evaluating the DISTRICT’s health insurance experience and providing benefit plan change recommendations in order to control the DISTRICT’s health care expenses.
