Specifications include, but are not limited to: DCF is seeking to procure private sector paraprofessional services to provide program support to the Caregiver Background Unit to initiate and process child care background checks. Two classifications of paraprofessionals are needed: License Support Specialists (LSS) and Advanced License Support Specialists (ALSS). Duties include: timely response to inquiries from licensees, employees, applicants, household members, and regional DCF staff; database entry; obtaining confidential information from data sources and maintaining confidentiality; determining other security checks as necessary; generating notification letters; properly documenting case progress. In addition to the duties listed above, Advanced License Support Specialists will fulfill the role of lead worker, responding to more complex programmatic needs including processing more complex background checks, answering more complex questions, helping oversee the work of license support specialists, and reporting concerns to program supervisors. Both roles will require confidentiality, the ability to interact effectively with government agencies, partners, and the public, providing positive customer service and timely problem resolution.
