Specifications include, but are not limited to: The UW Veterinary Care department is seeking bids for (3) blood gas analyzers. This purchase will upgrade the ability to perform and record certain laboratory tests for remote areas of the hospital. The equipment will be located in our primary Clinical Pathology Laboratory, Large Animal section and our Small Animal Critical Care Unit. We anticipate having the analyzers networked to increase the efficiency of our laboratory staff by not having our staff manually obtain test results from each machine at the remote sites. We also request the availability of an array of measured tests for selection by our medical staff. -Analyzers should be validated for veterinary patients -Analyzers should be equipped with the following measured tests: pH, PCO2, PO2, SO2%, Hematocrit (Hct), Hemoglobin (Hb), Na, K, Cl, iCa, Glucose, BUN/Urea, Lactate, and with or without iMg or creatinine -Suitable specimen types should include whole blood, capillary, mixed venous, arterial, venous heparin/aspiration and capillary. -Analytical methods should include ISE for pH, iCa, iMg, Na, Cl, and K; Severinghaus for PCO2; amperometry for PO2; optical reflectance for Hb; conductivity for Hct; enzyme/amperometric for lactate, glucose, and creatinine. -Analyzer should track Barometic pressure. -Analyzer must not require gas tanks.
