The awarded provider(s) must meet the following criteria: Transportation services must benefit Outagamie County elderly and disabled residents. Elderly are defined as individuals aged 60 years and above. Disabled residents are defined as those individuals who, because of any temporary or permanent physical or mental condition or institutional residence, are unable without special facilities or special planning or design, to use available transportation facilities and services as effectively as persons who are not affected. Children with disabilities may be included in projects. Children with disabilities must be aged 8 years and above to ride independently, less than 8 years with an attendant. As designated in Wisconsin Statute 347.48(4), all children under aged 8 years must be in the appropriate child safety seat. Priority will be given to proposals providing travel for nutrition, work, vocational training or educational activities throughout the rural Outagamie County. All individuals served under the proposal must be a resident of Outagamie County and live within the boundaries of Outagamie County. Transportation may go beyond the boundaries of Outagamie County for the benefit of riders, meeting the definition of elderly or disabled. Transportation fares or co-pays may also be collected and utilized in the overall development of the project.
