Specifications include, but are not limited to: Through training, technical assistance, and coaching, the Social and Emotional Development Training and Coaching Support program will provide early childhood education (ECE) programs and providers with the needed supports to increase their skills and ability to implement the following within their program settings: building and sustaining positive relationships with children and families, creating supportive and engaging environments, creating expectations and rules, teaching social skills, identifying and managing emotions, teaching problem-solving, creating individualized interventions plans for children. Upon consistent implementation of these skills, ECE programs will have well-trained staff prepared to work proactively with children experiencing challenging behaviors and reducing the likelihood of suspension and expulsion.
