Specifications include, but are not limited to:GENERAL INFORMATION AND SCOPE The County of Portage Wisconsin (County), through its Purchasing Department (Purchasing), requests bids to establish a contract for the purchase and installation of snowmaking equipment for Standing Rocks Park. Standing Rocks Park is a small winter operation with a ski trail and tubing hill. Presently the park does not have snowmaking capability and relies on natural snowfall. Snowmaking has become more critical to the ski area operation, in that it provides a guaranteed ski surface. Snowmaking also extends early season potential for skiers and revenue, which many areas indicate is key to a successful operation. The goal for Standing Rocks Park winter operation is to open the ski run and tubing hill before Christmas, and to remain fully opened until early March.
