Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1.1 The Contractor shall be responsible to monitor weather conditions and respond as needed to maintain contract standards for snow and ice removal including salting and/or sanding throughout the contract period. 3.1.2 Parking lots, entrances, exits, loading area, sidewalks, decks, steps, crosswalks and handicap ramps shall have snow and ice removed to provide safe and slip free surfaces. See Appendix 1 – Facility Specifications for additional details specific to each facility. 3.1.3 Contractor shall be responsible for removal, treatment, salting and/or sanding of all ice, sleet and hail, to provide safe and slip free surfaces. 3.1.4 Hours of service: 3.1.4.1 State Capitol - All plowing, sidewalk clearing, salting and/or sanding shall be initially completed by 6:30am Monday – Friday, and by 8:00am Saturdays, Sundays, and State Holidays. Snow accumulation during the day must be cleaned until 9:00pm on weekdays. 3.1.4.2 Executive Residence - All plowing, sidewalk clearing, salting, and/or sanding shall be initially completed by 5am seven (7) days a week, including State Holidays. Snow accumulation during the day must be cleaned until 9:00pm on all days. Contractor will be notified of the special events schedule so a safe, non slip surface is maintained throughout an event. 3.1.4.3 All State Facilities (Excluding State Capitol and Executive Residence) - All plowing, sidewalk clearing, salting, and/or sanding shall be initially completed by 6:30am Monday – Friday. If snow occurs after 9:00pm on weekdays, on weekends and/or State Holidays, Contractor can wait until snow has ended to provide cleanup. 3.1.5 If snow continues throughout the day, Contractor shall periodically return to the facility if necessary. No more than one (1) inch of snow be allowed to accumulate at the facility during hours of service listed in 3.1.4.
