Specifications include, but are not limited to: 6.1.1 The Contractor shall provide all labor, supplies, equipment, insurance, permits and safety devices necessary to accomplish and perform safe professional snow removal services which includes plowing, scraping, loading and removing snow piles from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus as required. 6.1.2 The contractor’s vehicles used for snow removal shall be restricted to streets, combination drive/walks, loading dock areas and similarly surfaced locations designated by the University. 6.1.3 The contractor shall provide the University with a phone number that can reach personnel 24 hours a day for emergency snow removal. 6.1.4 The contractor is required to check-in and check-out when on campus for snow plowing and removal services. This shall be done by calling the University Police when arriving and again when leaving (telephone: 920-424-1212). If calls are not made for check-in and/or check-outs the university is not responsible for payment for services during that period. 6.1.5 The Contractor agrees that the University shall have the sole authority to determine that the snow removal services are properly done and may direct the Contractor to redo any work, at the Contractor’s expense, that is not to their satisfaction. The University may withhold partial or all payment until the work is completed to the satisfaction of the University contact. 6.3.1 The contractor is responsible for snow removal for snow falls of 1 inch or more in designated areas which are parking lots #7, 10, 13, 30, 34 and around the Intramural Recreation Field Complex. The University shall be responsible for snow/ice control on all pedestrian areas and for all sanding/salting of parking lots and pedestrian areas. 6.3.2 All lots must be scraped to the pavement to prevent excess snow and ice accumulations, which in turn becomes slippery conditions for the University. 6.3.3 Snow must be accumulated and placed in a fashion so parking spaces are maximized within lots (minimal affect on the parking spaces). NEVER push or pile snow into handicapped stalls, access aisles or ramps. There may be cars, permanent and/or temporary structures, people actively driving or walking in areas where snow removal occurs. 6.3.4 Do not push snow onto islands that have shrubs or trees. Do not dump snow in bio swales. 6.3.5 Student Rec & Wellness Center employees will be responsible for removing snow 4 feet from the dome at the Intramural Recreation Field Complex. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to remove snow from 4 feet from the dome. All snow from this area must be hauled away due to the lack of space.
