Each snow event is unique due to time of day, duration, and amount of snow accumulation. Snow events with 2” or more in accumulation will require snow removal services unless notified by the City. The contractor must be available to work all hours of the day or night. The City plows and hauls snow off Main St. and arterial feeder streets between the hours of midnight and 6AM. Medians on Main St. need to be clear of snow prior to hauling of snow from Main St., which means the contractor may need to be in at midnight to work alongside the City’s snow removal team. The selected qualified contractor will agree to provide the following services: 1. Snow removal services 24/7, which includes late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. 2. Multiple snow removal service occurrences for a snow event occurring over multiple hours or days while snow is accumulating. a. For example, City Hall, PD, and the Fire Station may need to have sidewalks cleared more often because they are open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Library is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 3. If snow accumulates overnight, all public buildings (City Hall, Library, PD, and Fire Station) will have sidewalks cleared at least once prior to when each location opens to the public. 4. Any turf damage occurring from provided snow removal services by contractor shall be repaired no later than May 31 annually. If an extension to this date is needed, the request needs to be submitted to the Public Works Manager. 5. 48 hours after the cessation of snow, the City will tag residential and commercial sidewalks not shoveled and give 24 hours’ notice to clear the snow. If snow is not cleared by the end of the notice period, a copy of the snow violation tag will be given to the contractor for them to clear the snow, to be billed separately on an hourly basis. The quantity of snow violation tags may vary for each snow event.
