Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Village of Waukesha is divided into 6 (six) routes. Three of those routes are outsourced to the outside plow contractor, with the remaining 3 (three) routes handled by the DPW employees.; Snow Flurries Trace to 1” No plowing. Salt intersections, hills, railroad crossings and curves if deemed necessary by DPW employees only.; Snow 1”-2” Begin plowing. Salt intersections, hills, railroad crossings, and curves. Determine if contractor needs to be called or if DPW can handle.; Snow 2”-5” Contractor called. Continue to plow, keeping at least 1 (one) passable lane open, 2 (two) when possible while continuing to salt intersections, hills, railroad crossings and curves.; Snow 6”+ Continue plowing to keep the passable lane open for emergency vehicle traffic.; Ice ¼” or less Salt intersections, hills, railroad crossings and curves.; Ice over ¼” Salt all streets. If deemed unsafe call snow emergency.
