These specifications/scope of services are intended to be primarily goal-oriented versus prescriptive in nature. Bidders shall describe their approach to the replacement of three (3) overhead doors with a manufacturer’s warranty as well as a contractor’s warranty. The contractor is expected to remove the three (3) existing overhead door systems and replace them with new systems including but not limited to insulated doors, track and operator systems. This includes disposal of the old door systems and updating any electrical system required to operate the new door systems. Provide both a manufacturer’s and contractor’s warranty and specify length of warranty. Removal and disposal of existing overhead door systems. Installation of three (3) new, 14 foot by 14 foot, exterior, overhead doors and operator systems. All components and materials used must be of new manufacture. All doors must: Be comprised of metal framework and painted exterior. Be commercial quality and strength. Be approximately 2 inches thick. Have approximately 9 R-value insulation rating. Have one panel with insulated glass windows for ambient lighting, eye level. Have interior wall mounted controls with minimum open, close and stop functions. Have a commercial grade door opener system. Have a steel track system. Four programmable, 4 button remote controllers. Battery backup operation. Must be sealed against the weather. Include photo eye safety system.
