Specifications include, but are not limited to: Near-field Antenna Measurement System A spherical near-field antenna measurement system for measurement of radiation pattern, gain, and other radiation properties of an antenna. • The system must be spherical near-field system capable of measuring the complete 3D radiation patterns of both directional and omnidirectional antennas. • Frequency band of interest must cover at least 1 to 40 GHz. • The system shall be capable of accommodating antennas under test (AUT) with maximum diameters of up to 70 cm (e.g., a spherical antenna with a diameter of 70 cm) and total weights of at least 35 lbs. • The system must be capable of using commercially available vector network analyzers (VNAs) manufactured by a third party (e.g., Keysight, Rohde & Schwaz, etc.) as the main transmitter/receiver of the system. The VNA hardware itself will be provided by the customer and should not be included in this bid. Solutions that require proprietary transmitter/receiver hardware units or are not capable of using third-party VNAs as the transmitter/receiver units will not be accepted. • The system shall include a software controlling the measurement process and post processing the data. The software shall be capable of performing near-field to far-field transformations and probe calibration and provide common far-field pattern measurement results of the AUT (e.g., calibrated radiation pattern, gain, directivity, polarization states, etc.). The quote should include the cost of acquiring a permanent license for the software. • The software shall allow for using non-proprietary (i.e., not provided by the bidder) standard-gain antennas for calibrating the gain of the AUT. Specifically, the software shall allow the user to provide gain vs. frequency data for a standard gain antenna manufactured by a third party and be able to use this antenna for antenna gain calibration. Solutions that require using proprietary standard gain antennas designed and marketed by the bidder or require additional cost (not included in the quote) for using third-party manufactured standard gain horn antennas for antenna gain calibration will not be accepted. • At minimum, the system shall include movable absorber walls that surround the periphery of the near-field measurement system as well as portable absorber panels that will be positioned on the ground. Solutions that provide complete enclosures or anechoic chambers with absorbers covering all walls of the chamber are also acceptable. • The maximum external height of the system (including any enclosure or absorber walls accompanying it) shall be less than 10.5 feet (hard requirement). Lateral dimensions of the system should be less than 14 feet × 13 feet.
