Project Description and Scope of Work The work generally consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete asphalt improvements within the playground area, including but not limited to the following: Base Scope: ● Milling and removal of existing asphalt pavement ● Proper disposal of removed materials ● Subgrade preparation as required ● Placement and compaction of new asphalt pavement suitable for playground use ● Final grading to ensure proper drainage and transitions Undercutting Allowance: ● Proposals shall include a cash allowance for undercutting of unsuitable subgrade material for an area of approximately 2,500 square feet ● The allowance shall include: ○ Excavation and disposal of unsuitable material ○ Replacement with approved base material ○ Compaction to industry standards ● Unit pricing shall be provided for undercutting beyond the allowance quantity. Playground Line Striping: ● Replacement of existing playground striping, including: ○ Layout consistent with existing markings ○ Application of durable, playground-appropriate striping paint ● Contractor shall verify existing striping during site visit ● Striping shall be included as a separate line item in the proposal.
