Door County is seeking proposals for a Phragmites australis (common reed) control program. The project consists of 3 parts, approximately 18 acres in quarries, approximately 6 acres in state right-of-ways (ROW), and up to 200 acres on private properties. SWCD has not yet obtained permissions for private properties, but based on previous years permissions anticipates at least 80 acres of treatment in 2025. Conditioned on land owner permission, the selected contractor and/or contractors will retreat populations as needed and address newly identified populations over the course of this project. All private property treatments are conditioned on funding and landowner permission. This contract is for up to 3 years based on contractors’ performance and funding.
