Specifications include, but are not limited to: Invoicing Invoices must be submitted on a monthly basis and include the date and time of each visit to the facility, along with the service(s) level and rate at which the snow/ice removal services were provided. Daily Summary At the conclusion of any day that snow or ice removal services were performed, send via email a daily summary to the building contact, including: approximate time of service – also indicating whether it was prior to business hours or during business hours, services performed, and weather. Weather condition summary should include amount of snowfall, details of icy conditions, and/or any information that informs why services were needed. Site Maps and Parking Lot Requirements A site map for each location is provided to show which areas to clear and where to pile snow. Site maps may also indicate sections that require service based on different hours of operation. Fire Hydrants All fire hydrants and standpipes shall be kept clear of snow. The contractor shall maintain unrestricted access to these utilities for facility and emergency personnel. Dumpsters Access to dumpsters must be maintained at all times. Calcium Chloride Contractor must supply one 5-gallon pail at each entry/exit with a lid and a scoop, of calcium chloride at the entrances to the building(s) for use by WisDOT staff on sidewalks and entrances when the contractor is not on site. The site contact will designate where the salt will be stored. Calcium chloride provided at the entrances is for the convenience of WisDOT staff - it does not excuse the Contractor from deicing in accordance with the contract. Only cost of the salt to fill the pails may be charged per contracted price. Building & Garage Access Contractor is responsible for clearing snow away from each building entrance, including overhead doors. If a plow is used, the Contractor should not assume that building occupants will clear the last few feet up to the doors or in front of vehicle bays. Snow Hauling Contractor will pile snow in designated areas as indicated on the site map. Snow may need to be hauled off site when snow piles get big enough to hinder movement around them. Any hauling of snow is extra to the contract and thus must first be authorized by WisDOT Facilities Services Section staff. Stakes/Markers Contractor shall be responsible for installing, maintaining and removing stakes or markers to prevent damage to hydrants, trees, islands, curbs and landscaping. Markers shall be installed before the first snow fall and removed by May 1st of each year.
