In general, the work consists of: removal and disposal of the existing sheet metal flashing at the roof edge; salvage for re-use the existing sheet metal two-piece counterflashing at boundary walls; removal and disposal of the ballasted EPDM single-ply roof system, including the existing stone ballast and field and base flashing membrane; salvage in-situ for re-use the existing rigid insulation; removal and disposal of the existing wet or otherwise damaged rigid insulation, then installation of new insulation in its place; installation of a new stone-ballasted EPDM membrane roof system; installation of new edge sheet metal flashing; installation of salvaged wall sheet metal counterflashing; and the repair/replacement as necessary of any roof drain strainers, flashing, pipe boots, and other roof penetrations as needed to ensure the integrity of the roof system.
