Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bundles must be: • .75 cubic foot; • WI DATCP certified firewood https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/Programs_Services/FirewoodDealerCertification.aspx; • Below 20% moisture content; • Packaged with the processor’s name, location, package size, and certification information on the label; • No pine or aspen permitted; Approximately 65% of the bundles will be delivered on pallets to large firewood sheds at Crystal Lake and Clear Lake Campgrounds – vendor is responsible for unloading pallets and moving them into the firewood shed. In the two large sheds, pallets of wood are unloaded and moved into the sheds – no need to take the wood off the pallets, however unloading the pallets from the delivery vehicle and getting them into the sheds (typically using a skid steer with forks) is the vendor’s responsibility. The sheds have gravel floors so a hand pallet jack (which would be very difficult anyway) or a warehouse-type forklift that needs a perfectly smooth hard surface would not be practical. These large sheds will require multiple deliveries per season. These two sheds are available for viewing. ; Approximately 35% of bundles will be delivered to smaller firewood sheds at eight outlying campgrounds in Oneida, Vilas, and Iron Counties – vendor is responsible for hand stacking bundles in these sheds (Buffalo Lake, West Star Lake, Razorback Lake, Starrett Lake, North Trout Lake, Upper Gresham Lake, Big Lake, and Sandy Beach Lake Campgrounds). Some of these smaller sheds will require multiple deliveries per season while others might only require one or two deliveries per season. These sheds are not open for viewing as they are snowed in.
