Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Medicine is requesting bids for 45 FDA approved FeNO measurement devices and equipment to support a 5 year clinical trial. These devices will be initially be shipped to UW-Madison and sent to 40+ participating sites around the country and possibly to one or more sites in Canada and/or the United Kingdom. These will be used with their local research subjects for the Precision Interventions for Severe and/or Exacerbation Prone Asthma (PrecISE) Network research study. The 45 devices will need to support approximately 21,000 tests. In addition, a test kit for each unit and a spare breathing handle are desired. We would like the bid to include what the initial cost will be as well as the total cost for a 5 year clinical trial. The equipment will contribute to the overall study goals: to determine the impact of phenotype-directed interventions on the frequency of asthma exacerbations and to validate the predictive value of monitoring biomarkers assessed at baseline and after treatment.
